About

I work where warehouse operations meet product.

Syed Mohsin Gillani
ABU DHABI, UAE

Seventeen-plus years across VentureOne, Majid Al Futtaim-Carrefour, Amazon and Philips, building the systems that sit between what a customer sees and what actually arrives. Right now I am helping build VentureOne's warehouse automation business in Abu Dhabi, covering new business development, solution strategy, partner ecosystems and commercial propositions for robotic fulfilment and distribution-centre automation. Before this I scaled fulfilment and last-mile platforms across 12+ markets and 300+ stores. The work I find most useful is taking a complex warehouse workflow and turning it into an automation solution that actually runs. Product in this space is different from pure software. A delivery promise is only as good as the warehouse workflow behind it. A personalisation model is only useful if the inventory is in the right store. The interesting problems live where digital products and physical operations meet, and that is where I have spent my career.

04
What I Build

I build the systems behind the customer experience.

The visible product is only one part of the story. The harder work often happens underneath it: fulfilment logic, delivery promises, warehouse workflows, identity, data, integrations and the operating systems that make the customer journey reliable.

05
Work Modules

Selected work, built and scaled.

Each module follows the same arc: a problem that needed solving, a decision about where to focus, a system that was built, and a measurable result.

06
Signature Experience

The Fulfilment Engine

A conceptual model of the system that sits between a customer order and a delivered package. This is not a specific production architecture. It is a representation of the domain.

From Physical to Digital

The chain from a shelf to a prediction.

Every step in this chain is a product decision. The further along it moves, the more software replaces manual work. The end state is not digital replacing physical. It is the two working as one system.

AutomationPhysical + digital convergence

My career followed this path in reverse. I started in stores and sales, moved into operations and warehouses, then into fulfilment and last mile, then into the digital product layer, and now into AI and automation. I did not skip steps. That is why the systems I build account for what happens on the ground.

09
Leadership

The products are complex. The leadership has to be simple.

At Carrefour I led 5 product managers and 50+ engineers, architects and data specialists across multiple product tribes. The work spanned engineering, operations, data, finance and country leadership. The job was not to have every answer. It was to make sure the right questions got asked, the hardest problems got owned, and the teams building them had what they needed. Good product leadership in fulfilment means connecting a decision about a delivery promise to a decision about a warehouse workflow, and making sure neither breaks the other.
